throughout this reading section, I was very surprised that her teacher was as nice to her as she was. I was glad that her teacher didn't ice her out during Emoni's pregnancy. it was nice to know that her teacher wanted to truly know "[how] Emma", her daughter was doing (Acevedo 19). it shows that her teachers care, and it gave me a good feeling about the teachers' character.

I can't believe that chef ayden made Emonie and pretty Leslie "roommates", even though they don't like each other whatsoever (Acevedo 281). I was surprised that they didn't go into too much detail about it after to. the whole situation was surprising.

when emoni got pregnant is changed the way others saw her. she used to be seen as some cool nice girl but once her "babybump" started showing she became the scchool "hoe" that slept with every guy (Acevedo 150).
