I‘m on page 105 of 287 (in my font size). I finished Chapter 8. I didn’t like the direction in which this was going. The Taking laid a heavy focus on the romance, but where is that right now? And, what the fuck are you doing there Simon? This dude is FOURTY-NINE. THAT DUDE COULD BE HER FATHER. THIS IS DISGUSTING. I read reviews of The Replaced and The Countdown. I can‘t believe it but I won’t finish this.

I am actually quite sad about this, I was thinking this was a bit boring so far and the rescue mission stretched unnecessarily long, but I would have pushed through. I loved Tyler as a love interest. Sure, I get it, there were flaws and all, but come on. An almost 50 year old man in a teenager body? You think I don’t feel fricking uncomfortable with that because he’s supposed to look like a teen? I also felt like I couldn’t enjoy Kyra‘s character as much so far. And it’s not getting any better, neither in this book nor in the third and final one of the trilogy. I‘m almost sorry to say this, also for myself, because this ja dis much potential and I was so excited for this one, but this is it. I can’t believe I am saying this because I always finish my books, no matter what. But I guess this creepy love triangle (which is so unnecessary, on top of my I-absolutely-hate-love-triangles thingy going on) did it. DNF.
