Coming back to this book at a later date. I don’t think I enjoy apologist histories as much as I do more objective ones. That’s not to say that Bushman’s history isn’t a worthy read for anyone interested in a believer’s take on the controversial aspects of the Joseph Smith story. I just need a break from Church history as a whole for a moment, and I think I would recommend Benjamin E. Park’s work more.
