The first third of the book is pretty dark (reminds me of why it’s hard to read Invisible Man) but then the rest of the book the light comes in and shines for and on Celie.
The first portion is definitely hard to get through! Invisible Man is a good comparison. Hopefully I can finish both prolific books this year
