Wow! Pre Travis McGee! A summer sizzles. I'll get it for my stay cation read. A gin and tonic, hammock on the covered patio and a vintage John MacDonald novel. You have set the tone for my summer, Fergus. Wish I still had my convertible and my boat.

Great! This one is heavily influenced by the War, and carries its shadow throughout. Two friends become inseparable during their Marine days, and in peacetime the principal character fears his buddy will return to his womanizing ways - which soon run afoul.
