The FMC’s mother talked her into selling herself to a man on earth, for fresher air and water. Gross. She also spent her whole life and worked hard, on an education she can’t use. If humans destroyed the earth so much that it became inhabitable for a while, why should they repopulate it. Humans are destructive and disgusting overall. Sigh.
