This is a book that switches between two children as they grow up in WWII. The plot is mostly introducing the main characters, Marie-Laure and Werner, and their daily lives. Marie-Laure is blind girl. She spends most of her days exploring blindly, reads Braille, and does puzzles. Werner is an orphan along with his sister Jutta. He is a gifted engineer that is always innovating and inventing.

so far, the book is a bit slow. The setting has been introduced. However, the adjectives that this author uses is astounding.
