One surprising part in the story was when the elevator started tilting. For example, the whole tower was tilting from left to right. According to the text " That meant- that meant the whole tower was leaning. All one hundred and seven floors" (21). This proves that this moment in the book was crazy and scary for the people who experienced it in the elevator.
