Wow, those were some intense chapters I just read. No spoilers, but both Maudie’s mom and her stepdad don’t seem to be treating her the best. It really made me feel bad for Maudie. But it is interesting to have more context to what her background was like. Hopefully, things would get better for Maudie as the story goes on!

It’s been such a long time since I’ve read this book, so I decided to get back into it. I’m enjoying Maudie’s story so far! I love how I’m getting to know her family and herself better. I’m not a fan of Maudie’s mom’s character, but unfortunately, it’s very true to life for a lot of kids. Maudie’s relationship with her dad was also sweet to see. I can’t wait to see how the story develops!

I’m really enjoying this book! The only thing that I’m not liking about it is that it’s difficult to follow sometimes. It introduces one topic, but then, it’ll switch to the next one. Perhaps it’s to reflect Maudie’s communication difficulties. I’m curious to see where the story goes!
