The book was entertaining enough until the
mention of a rape occuring when on the trail. While the author describes it as ‘nasty incident’, he also expresses sympathy towards the rapist (“I felt a little
sorry for him, having to watch a string of half-undressed Western women.”). The victim doesn’t get a mention. I couldn’t read on after that with only 68 pages left.

Thanks Mady. Yeah, I might actually do that. I know this isn’t what the book is about but there should be minimum amount of respect applied to sensitive issues like that.
WTF. I checked the publication date and even 1999, that he could not just think it, but write it out loud, wtf is his excuse?
