I had high hopes for this book but am losing momentum. The book is written as though you’ve already taken undergrad classes on the eastern front and now want to learn about Stalingrad. German and Russian phrases are used without translation, it’s assumed you know who the NKVD, Wehrmacht, and Russian political figures are. Maybe most people do but so far this isn’t the introduction that I was looking for.
