Ok why is this so rushed? The writing quality went down the drain. The characters are getting everything handed to them so easily. Are none of them sus about anything happening?

Maybe im just too used to enemies to lovers or friends to lovers, but the instant earth ending love between Xio and Holt feels so quick and sudden. I have seen fated mates before (even if you call it "soul bound") and this love still feels rushed. You dont know this person. This crazy strong love doesnt feel earned.
