I'm only a few chapters into the book, but I really appreciate the pacing so far. I feel like a lot of sequels take the first part of the book to reset and then get into the next plotline, but this one just jumps right in. There is a little bit of additional world/character building that adds to the first book, but it is done in a way that really works within the next chapter of Li-lin's story.
