on a more serious note; forrest's decision to make a foreigner (a whole "alien") describe the custom and folklore of Maternas is so smart and interesting because it allows us to see their culture and traditions through unaccostumed and amazed eyes (possibly our own)

i finished part one and i can say i'm pleasantly surprised by this book, it has really funny and entertaining bits but the approach to certain issues such as environmental exploitation and ecology are really interesting

imagine birthing nine twin daughters and all of them are lesbians
