How is it.....I worry that it would be too dark, but am interested in reading it.

I avoided reading it for awhile for the same reason. Actually a brief, easily readable book. Horrible what happened. Gives mostly Amanda's and some of Gina's point of view, but the 3rd girl wanted to write her own book. Read it in 2 days, but NOT at night-didn't want the bad dreams.
