Some thoughts on the 70s chapter:
-She coined a new term "gooshy" to describe a certain type of food popular in the 70s - anything goopy, creamy, sticky etc. And she loves using it.
-Her disdain for the "childish" cuisine of the 70s like tequila sunrise and carrot cake is gooshing off the page
-This book was published in the 90s, and it's interesting to see the Crock Pot described as out of fashion at that time

This is very interesting overall, but sometimes gets a little dry. I don't like how some of the recipes have been altered, some for no apparent reason. I would rather have the original recipe and then have the author make suggestions for things to change and explain why. She said she removed cheese from one recipe altogether so now I have no idea how much to use to make it like it was or at what step to add it.

She's kind of speeding through things. It's a faster read than I thought anyway because a lot of it is recipes and while I do at least skim over each one, of course I'm not going to read every recipe top to bottom. I was left a little lost by what she was trying to say in the very beginning about dainty salads, maids, and domestic scientists of the 20s.

I need a break before I read the last book in the Carr series, as I was annoyed by how book 18 ended.
