I think I know who the killer is... I think they could have done a much more interesting twist, but we shall see.

I do really dislike the dude, it's the 20s and he's French so I'm sure that's part of why he talks the way he does but bleh.

... I'm starting to think there are many things in the first book that would round the main character out. Book is set in the 20s and the main character was from Alabama and married and had a baby with a black man. The baby was taken from her, possibly killed year before this book happens which now has her living in Paris.

The wife had a stroke, is bed ridden, and thought to be essentially brain dead, though the main character thinks she is not, still feels icky.

I'm not sure how interested I am in finishing this book. 1 this is apparently book 2 though there is enough explanation of who characters are that it's not a big deal; however the main character is sleeping with a married man. The guy doesn't even seem likeable. :/
