Among Sea Wolves isn't quite gripping me as much as The Ring Breaker did, which I think is a symptom of how well resolved the first book felt. There were some linger threads still left to be completed, but none of them as important as Skarfr's growing into himself, and his relationship with Hilf. Among Sea Wolves feels broader and perhaps more historically vibrant, but I feel less attached to the story it is telling.
