Ok, I was really hoping for something new but already I am having a hard time.
Am I wrong but as of the time of them being in the train...this is just like the animated film but without the dog and a bit more truth mixed in?? Like, take away the magic and talking bat and add in the jewel-lined petticoats and this is what I am reading. I was hoping for something a bit more original. That being said, I like the idea of the asylum! Interesting and new (bit depressing), this I like.
I am going to continue but.. just bummed so far. By the way, I love the animated movie (historical inaccuracies and everything lol) so maybe that is why I am so deeply disappointed that this seems like a rewrite with a few changes.
Also, could be that I am reading this while having a migraine. Maybe that makes me mean? We'll see.
