I don't know why Bataille insists on using the argument that the extremely skillful realism of the art means that it couldn't have been just magic, the developments of art in the bronze age see that great skill used for utilitarian magic art. I actually agree with his argument as a whole mind you, but because of the lack of magical imagery, idk why he insists on this argument it's also in Tears of Eros.
