Really? It’s ok that buddy boy let his parents throw you out into a snowstorm with nary a fight- because he has anxiety? The message of this book is clearly “everyone fights secret battles everyday,” which is all well and good but your anxiety disorder does not exempt you from responsibility, pal.

Maybe this will literally come up on the next page/paragraph, but why hasn’t MC tried to heal her sister with her portrait power? I get that it would be very complex based on the rules of magic governing it, but it also seems like the sort of thing that would be very motivating…
