On their way, the real Duane shows up, outing Billy. Who then is tied up and left at a blazing petrol station!

Cap Nazi will no longer take orders, wanting to battle against Cap Marvel.
The guards who were told not to shoot, do and so blows up the Neo-Nazi adults and their lab.
CN gets his wish after saving Billy from the blaze and he says that magic word.
CM gets the upper hand but races to stop the other boys before they can follow through with their deadly plan.
By the time CM returns, CN has fled…

Billy takes Dawn’s brother’s place and learns all about fascism and how to fire an automatic rifle.
A young kid named Ron is not comfortable and wants out of the summer camp from hell. Sadly, being undercover Billy can’t trust anyone.
Hearing something is up, Billy spies on the adults as they create ‘Captain Nazi’!

In protecting a would-be victim, CM is partially responsible for a crook’s death.
Filled with guilt, Billy meets the crook’s daughter, who wants the kid’s help with her brother.
Seeing Dawn’s pain and anger, Billy states he’ll do everything he can.

Black Adam reveals he hijacked that plane and kidnapped foreign dignitaries for… money?!
More interestingly, Sivana admits he was responsible for Billy’s parents' deaths.
Not sure why Billy revealed he was Cap Marvel to his evil uncle though…
After a lot of fighting, CM tricks BA and the villain is banished again!
There were aspects I liked but I’m glad they change things later on.

Back in San Francisco, Billy visits K-WHZ Station Manager Emily Thicket to tell her what he knows about the plane-jacking.
That meeting doesn’t go exactly how Billy wanted it to.
He visits Shazam once again to learn how Black Adam came to be.
Not the most unique of stories. Man gets incredible power. Man then craves more…
The ish ends with Cap Marvel shot by Sivana’s ‘secret weapon’.

And reunites with Uncle Dudley.
I’m glad Billy told Dudley everything. Makes sense. He’s a young kid who’s world has turned upside down.
On their way home, Billy hears about a top secret mission and decides the military needs his help.
He witnesses a commercial plane attacked by none other than Black Adam!
Unfortunately, BA threatens the passengers and gets away.

Issue #1 -
The new origins of Captain Marvel! I like how they modernised the story plus added a few new things, like the custody battle.
The fact that Doctor Sivana is Billy’s step-Uncle was not something I expected.
It’s certainly different but I can see why that plot was let go.
Also, old Shazam tells Billy he was created to defeat… Black Adam!
Very excited to read about him.
