I'm majorly confused about what's happening and who's who. I've just ended a chapter on a cliff-hanger, in which Reed thinks she has blackmail material on Noelle.

I'm leaning toward the author being the ditz rather than the protagonist. First, we had someone leaving items and chemicals connected with the death of Cheyenne in Reed's new itty-bitty single room. And now, someone has vandalized her room, again with reminders of Cheyenne. First, she dashes to the restroom to vomit -- fair enough. But then, she cleans up the room without complaining to the dormitory adult.

I'm about to begin the chapter, "Enemies Everywhere".
As I discovered the hard way recently, anyone can wind up holding the Idiot Ball. I'll try to be more tolerant of the protagonist. I still wish that she'd gone to the police, or perhaps school administration, when she found the poison in her new room.

I just finished four short chapters. Reed tries to keep her head up, and not let her status as the campus outcast get to her. She begins by focusing on her teachers in class -- improving grades, perhaps? Outside of class, a few students are friendly with her.
The murder victim may have been intimate with someone named S. O. When I saw S. O., I thought it might be an abbreviation for "Significant Other".

I just finished another chapter -- they aren't numbered. The entire school has decided that the MC, Reed, has murdered Cheyenne. Even Greg, whom Reed describes as "brutally honest" won't give her a straight answer.

I backtracked a notch, and I've just finished a chapter. The chapter ended when Reed found Ivy's picture of herself posing friendly with three others, one of whom apparently killed in a previous story.

Reed has been downgraded to a decrepit single room in a worn-down dormitory. She's found in her room a bottle of pills of the type that killed Cheyenne earlier. Unfortunately, it doesn't occur to her to take the pills to the authorities who have just reopened Cheyenne's murder investigation.
And she's taken it on herself to try to investigate.
