This needs A LoT of editing, but I think the story would be great if edited, and the events were explained better. I get that a hobo, named Gideon, his hands full of blood, was found by Taff River next to floating corpse. 2 bumbling cops (Kelvin and Dai) are interrogating him, with the weedy ginger lawyer present. What is his name! Then Rory the reporter tells boss Arwyn he has alibi for Gideon. Them we meet Tom,

“Oh, her? Yeah, I remember her butt.” Haha I luv how they talk.. He was actually saying, yea I remember her buddy..but this butt thing they say instead makes the most hilarious phrases out of context!

a lazy, insipid blend of Alt-J, the XX and Radiohead with the volume turned down. It wasn’t exactly the image the band’s name –Iranian Punk Rock –had created in Tom’s mind; they were something far worse, far duller, than the firebrand group of Persians in ripped jeans making a three-chord racket he’d envisioned.

Tom talking about jobs from the Job Center "It's like... getting punched in the face hurts a lot less than getting stabbed in the testicles, but that doesn't mean I enjoy getting punched in the face all day long.”

Rory Gallager- Journalist - "“Look, right, I cannae remember all tha ins and outs o’ it, I was fairly rat-arsed at tha time, but you dunnae fuck wi' a drunk Scotsman, know wa' I mean? Tha's jus' common sense, tha'. Far as I can recall, tha' cunt was there gi'en it tha big un, and I said 'listen, pal', or words tae tha effect, then he dinnae listen, so I bit a chunk o’ his fuckin' nose off...." Quite a character!

By God, I think I love this book! It is hard to read English/Irish dialect...but the author has a way with words like nothing I've ever seen. Ex. " At that thought, that moment of total despondency and dawning epiphany, realisation of dependency, he glanced up from the dark grey ovals of chewing gum lining the pavement and looked across the square ..."

I don't know if I can do this..." optimeuthemistically" that's not a word!!

"At that thought, that moment of total despondency and dawning epiphany, realisation of dependency, he glanced up from the dark grey ovals of chewing gum lining the pavement and looked across the square at some blonde figure stood outside the shopping precinct, smoking and staring at him." too many words.

Well the story is interesting but I am really frustrated with the run on sentences, double adjectives..really wordy. At first I was lost reading the dialect but now I can understand it, it doesn't feel 100% consistent about 70%, when on a roll! I don't understand either why the first chapter has all crude sex references and then just peters out at the end of the chapter. Some of the analogies are confusing.
