I have so many theories :p ..I think Amyas promise to Elsa for marriage was for the shake of painting ..I have a theory that he wanted to paint that emotion and when Caroline said cruel it was for Elsa and not herself … additionally though I had guessed that the governess had watched her wiping the finger prints I have a believe it was may be for Angela warren who felt like the red herring in this story .. I have few other wild theories but it might bore you 😝

I had a lot of wild theories myself, and that's the fun with Christie's books. They were even more extravagant with ABC murders, because the suspects were not limited to 5-6 in number.. :D
