Isabella goes to Catherine's brothers house and realizes its a dump, healhcliff has been staying there and gambling with the brother. The brother has gone crazy and admits to checking heathcliff door to see if its locked, if it not he will kill heathcliff.

Isabella, Edgar's sister has run off with Heathcliff to be married. She sent a letter to Ellen the maid that she regrets it, she also misses her brother and even though she sent him a letter he hasn't responded.

Catherine is going mad because Edgar her husband does not like her friend Heathcliff to make Edgar back down he went into her room for three days without food, Edgar did not react.
