I really liked Big Ancestor except for how Halden breaking Meredith's nose was just brushed over soooo quickly and didn't change the story at all. 1954 misogyny goes crazy LOL like it's almost like the story was unchanged bc of it and it should've been, Mer never should've chosen that fucken guy, ew!!!! can i say it i HATE men. no i hate patriarchy lol but stillllll what the helllll?????? who thought that was okay???

finished Gone Fishing by James H. Schmitz and godddd it made my stomach hurt. that forced isolation would be the death of me i think, I'd go insane without human contact ugh!!! But what a really really well set up story, I liked it all the way to the ending. I don't think I quite understand the ending, but I like it. Mr. Chard is stronger than me and the association is soooo devious /neg for that one, but it was fun

"Unit" By J. T. McIntosh, the third story of five in this anthology, was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. liked it a lot. much to think about with the units being amoral but working toward the general good. what a good story unghhhhhhh

the second short story in this ("Something Strange" by Kingsley Amis) was soooooo scary. so good
