After bad-mouthing so many people and killing an important friendship to her "best friend" just for her own control-issues, I needed that retaliation. Now that the karmic justice arrived, it's so cruel I still feel bad for this anti-hero protagonist I'm reading. Everybody loses, I don't get what's the point or gain in this sort of fiction.

I picked this up to get out of my comfort zone and expand my empathy, but - wow! Rose couldn't alienate me or antagonize herself more. I can let slip she's phobic of unorthodox relationships and expecting the world and raw talent to solve all problems for her, but phew... she's difficult.
