God, Cherryh really writes aliens so well. She makes them, well, alien. The concept of man’chi is not comprehensible to humans, sure there is some vague comparison in loyalty but loyalty is not genetic like it is for ateva, and it’s more than that. Fascinating stuff. At least Cajeiri is not alone now.

This series is such a comfort read, so I take my time with it. And Im also very depressed so not reading as often. All in all, really good entry. Glad we’re back on the atevi earth, dealing with all the political upheaval in Bren’s absence. Glad Tabini is alive, that handsome devil. Kinda interested to see how it’s all going to be resolved.

Ah back on atevi earth. I hope Tabini is okay, he’s one of my favs. Ilsidi is worrying me, I hope she perseveres, she’s got to. Cajeiri, poor boy, I know he’s atevi but it must be scary thinking the worst when it comes to your parents fate. And not to mention the tumultuous politics of the mainland. So much to attend to. Should be fun.
