I'm confused by Barbara's "Ugh, a petitioner, I so do not want to be doing this"-attitude.
Chudo-Yudo. It's not a bad idea, but it's also not a novel idea, yet. It feels like I'm reading a run-of-the-mill UF with no distinguishing features. I knew of Baba Yaga's from one of Ilona Andrews's short stories so that wasn't a unique selling-point for me. I'll keep reading, though. It's not a bad book.
