Having a tough time getting past the fact he is doing accents for all the people in the audiobook... they aren't good accents and it's a serious book why did you make this choice I don't understand ??

Random accents in audio are the absolute worst. Narrators should just try to avoid annoying voices and weird accents in general unless they are specifically written into the story!
