I would imagine that this is no less poignant today than it was when first published.
Despite the foreword saying that nothing was known of the writer's life afterwards the internet has changed that.
She remarried to a playwright/author and they collaborated on several successful West End shows and after his death she continued to write for television. She died in 1981 aged 94.
