I can only read Donald’s chapters. The mothers perspective is troubling and intruding my thoughts

This is a perspective I’ve been craving, between mother and son. Donald writes exceptionally well and I thoroughly enjoy his section that I’ve read. His mother has a troubled lens on transgender issues. It bothers me that she uses she/her pronouns for Donald pre-transition.
If I were to do this with my mother I would wait until she had a better chance understanding of gender in general.
