Are the spirits or Silas the ones poisoning Percy and Blythe?

Have we seen Silas interact with anyone besides Signa? Still thinking he’s the mortal form of Death or that no one else can see him…

Getting a little difficult to follow but I’m also multitasking. Also to separate this from another audiobook read by this woman that I really didn’t like (Tonight I Burn).

Death mentions to Signa that each guardian is greedier than the last, why is he tasked with looking out for her? What’s the reason for his mission?
