I had started to read this book years ago, but got about a third into it and didn't really see what it's point was. But I really like the author's other, more sci-fi works, so I decided to give it another try. I'm still not sure what the point is, but the characters are fascinating and I really enjoyed it. I plan to read the next one (The Confusion).
