It did get tedious towards the end. And I know it tied it all in to modern times and showed the growth and where things have come, but I didn’t like the modern parts about guns now and all that. I thought there would be a more conclusive ending but it ended suddenly. A nice read and my eyes have been opened to the major part guns played in history.

I’d hoped to finish this in 3 days but couldn’t do it. It’s getting a little dragged out and some of the information seemed to have lost the topic and turned more on the period and movies and not the guns. I like the information but it wasn’t in line with the rest. Sad to have the west come to a close and move on.

There are still quite a bit of typos which are distracting and make it hard to follow the sentences. I don’t like the bits about future wars not set in the Wild West and to hear when the wolf west was over once the frontier was gone and there was nowhere else to go. But still liking all the historical bits, and the part about the Buffalo so tied in to what I just read and that was cool.

I was actually finally in the mood to read this after years of owning it. The book I just read put it in mind. I was charging ahead today before I got tired of it and then went out. But I really like the historical details about the time periods and how people were living and what was going on in the world to put it into context. Definitely not just about the gun details, but more about the guns’ roles which is good.
