Hooked by the former Yugoslavia angle but I can’t lie - pretty sad to have only spent a couple of pages with our heroine, Karen Pirie, 11% in.

Does… does Maggie think that teaching lectures on feminist geography (lol wut) in a war zone is actually… useful? I’m so confused. From the way the book is going on about it you’d think these actions had single-handedly stopped the war. What?!?
