I keep falling in love every time I read this. When I picked this up today, the Tournament of Wishes was just starting. And I couldn't stop reading until the end.

Time to go back into the story of wishes. Third time reading it but still can't stop getting excited about the characters.

Going through this reminds me why this is my favourite book. I love how it's a tale about what it is to be human, mixed with all the mythology I grew up listening to.

Re-reading is amazing. I actually didn't remember half the story in this book. This is one of those books where I'm scared an adaptation might ruin it for me by messing up something. And Vikram's just lovely.

The sage nodded to the ruby. “Look and see what awaits you.”

He looked, but saw nothing.

“Try singing! The ruby wants to feel loved. Seduced.”

“I wouldn’t call my singing voice seduction,” said Vikram, finding his voice. “More like sacrilege, honestly.”
