another funny number is that in 2006 Export Processing Zones were responsible for 75 percent or more of export earnings in Kenya, Malaysia, Madagascar, Vietnam, dominican republic, and Bangladesh

EPZs are large scale industrial “estates” that specialise in manufacturing for export and add very little to the real economic development within that nation because of “free trade” policies (economic incentives for offshoring from global north)
