So this is a romance novel, "fantasy" is here just to fill pages, there's no cohesive world-building, there's no atmosphere, nothing exists outside of her magic dragon school. Dragons sound exactly like other teenagers, for a 20+ year olds who are dying every other day every character just strangely nonchalant about anything. There's no weight to anything. The heroine and her sexy guy have plot armor..[...]

This half-baked premise pretending to be a full fledged fantasy world and a lot of lusting over the buff sexy guy with a scar on his face who's always looking at our heroine with a lot of sexiness in his eyes and his hands are always folded in front of him. 260 pages of this, just have sex already, that's the only reason people are reading this at this point, right? And please don't tell me you're in for the dragons

nastya I refuse to believe this! This was written by a lady who is much older than me! It’s just crap, a 40 something lady writing a young adult. God I swear I am looking at a progress bar on my kindle and it always moves like 1 %. And you know that I enjoy a good romance, but this?! They have no chemistry, just her salivating downstairs page after page over how hot he is topless. And they FINALLY had their first kiss that was so boring and was going on for 3 pages, I started skimming! I skim a lot at the dumb dialogues too, there’s a lot of filler and not much happens! She's having the SAME two conversations with two hot boys over and over and over again

Sara R nastya whyyyy are you doing this to yourself!!! (I did it to myself too)

Because people who I thought had taste wrote reviews like: "hey, this is so fun, not very good but so enjoyable". Where's the enjoyment, I ask them?? Because this book became so big, maybe not to the levels of Twilight (which is a masterpiece of writing in comparison btw) that I wanted to know what's up! Because... I need to be prepared for the tv series? Lol

TV series?? I had no idea. I will watch it obviously.
I read it too at the height of the hype, when lots of non-fantasy readers were saying things like 'this is the only fantasy book I've ever enjoyed', was hoping it would be bad-but-fun, for me it was bad-and-tedious, and I swear I'm not that much of a snob. I read so much trash. This tested my limits...

Beautifully said, bad-and-tedious is exactly how I would describe it. There are no connections between the characters, they just go around being "cool" as this author sees cool, and it's a bit embarrassing to be honest. Nobody has any personality except the main heroine, whose personality is horny and she talks in quips? Not witty or funny quips, mind you

Ellison Time to bail. There is no dishonor in tossing a book against the wall if it is as bad as this one. I must say, though, it left a dent.

Elena Linville-Abdo Oh that doesn't bode well. I have this on my TBR, but I have more and more doubts that I will keep it.

nastya Elena, just like Sara, I was tricked by people saying it was trash but of a fun variety.
Ellison, this would've been a smart thing to do. But unfortunately it's an ebook, so not dents and throwing at the walls. It remains to be seen, I have some time to decide before my library takes it back. :)

Oh well. I just took of off my TBR. I have over 1000 books on it as is, so I decided not to waste time on books I don't enjoy.
