Notes:
(1) I'm sort of in shock at how good this is. It has one of the best #1 issues to a series I've ever read.
- Possibly, it's because I've gone through a string of post-Netflix Mark Millar duds that this shines all the more.
- Just a lot of heart to it, and you really feel for the hero.
(2) The concept seems a lot like the movie "Up," but a portal fantasy set in space.

Notes:
(1) If I have one major criticism about this, it's that I want to know more about the world and its characters.
- The rebel leader, Tilda, is pretty generic. So is the main villain. We never get either of their backstories nor deeper than surface-level personalities.
- I'd love a prequel series of Duke's earlier adventures.
(2) A solid ending, but too quick and tidy.

Notes:
(1) The quality's dipped a bit, but it's still very good.
- It gets a bit cliché and formulaic, but that's not necessarily bad, especially paired with a decent amount of originality.
(2) The cartoonish art style sort of contrasts the book's more mature elements.
- There isn't any cursing, but there's people cut in half, mass murder, pools of blood, and a palace orgy.

Notes:
(1) At first glance, all I can tell is this looks like a Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon-esque space adventure.
- Really, I'm only familiar with Buck Rogers from Duck Dodgers and Flash Gordon from Queen.
(2) I only know Goran Parlov from "Y: The Last Man."
- Looking through this, he seems less like a Pia Guerra mimic than a mid-century throwback artist like Darwyn Cooke.
