Emily’s Reviews > Striking Romance > Status Update

still reading piecemeal and soooo slowly, but I just LOVE how the book does not entertain for even one tiny instant that the hero has any say in the heroine’s commitment to her cause and her work — “if you can’t stomach [her dangerous work for labor rights], then get out of her way” is a p refreshing take for a romance novel! or any novel!

still very didactic, but starting to be delightfully so!

I love didacticism but also it’s nice when ppl sound like real ppl :/ which these ppl do not :/ ah well, one can’t have everything! I’ll still take this over most other historicals currently published
