Some of the best contemporary fiction I've read in a while. Every character was so real to me, and the subtle or not subtle ways they each relate to the other characters brings to life the Native community in Oakland. Quick easy read, but painful to read about everyone's suffering, generational trauma and curses, bad luck, being stuck in poverty or stricken with addiction etc.
