The reasons I've avoided this book are what I am encountering as I read it. Tomie has no character development. You merely learn more of her backstory and how she exists. Each time she engages with men is so repetitive and boring. The only slightly refreshing thing is her engagements with women she sees as threats (but its so predictable it falls short of being interesting). Junji Ito definitely has better works.
