each page i read is more magical and somehow forcefully grounded in reality than i assumed was possible. robin is smart, and positioned in a place where his disadvantages allows him have perspective, but he's also witnessing more - friends who are more marginalized than him struggle with this white-to-the-bone institute. his relationship with griffin is painful, and i feel his hurt in my chest. incredible writing.

so far, babel is a carefully crafted, immaculate piece of literature. with every page my whole being descends deeper into the world kuang has created. its deliberate wonder is cinematic and poetic all at once. i had not expected this book to be this breathtakingly expressive, perhaps it is because of the blurb my copy of the book has. i love ramy with all my heart already.
