REASONS I HATE THE LOVE TRIANGLE TROPE
- the love interests are reduced to symbolic options for the MC to choose between (good/bad, past/present) instead of individual people in their own right
- The love interests become enemies by default - even if under other circumstances they'd get along or maybe even be friends. They’re reduced to being rivals because their sole purpose is to love the MC and hate each other

AND the MC is usually so insufferable and is stringing along at least one of the love interests which becomes one of the MC's most prominent character traits
