The Sun Dog: 3.5
Solid horror yarn with a ticking clock that slowly burrows under your skin. I like that it just wants to tell a spooky story and isn’t overly concerned with a metaphor, unlike Library Policeman. Really like the perspective shift to Pop Merrill halfway through. And I enjoyed all the little Needful Things Easter eggs.

The Library Policeman: 3/5
AMAZING set-up. LOVED the first scene in the library, where we meet Ardelia. Terrific dark comic undertones in their interactions. But the Dirty Dave flashback goes on far too long, and I really don’t know how to feel about the way in which licorice plays into the finale. Also, Sam’s flashback: JESUS CHRIST, STEPHEN!
Side note: What kind of library opens at 5PM on a Friday!?
