Redirect foreign missions to a black church…that smacks of the “white savior” complex. I guess, it’s the same sending aid to a foreign country too? But seriously, unless we have a working relationship with that church, randomly sending a black church money is kind of insulting. Open dialogue is key I think. That’s not mentioned here.

Ok, ensure fair jury selection. Dude, it’s random-ish. And seriously, how many people try to get OUT of jury duty. I believe attorneys have the right to bump jurors they feel won’t be good for their client, both sides have that right. It’s as fair as it’s going to get.

Dude, I had NO idea that there are states (in the South, natch) that have state holidays honoring Confederates?!? What the HECK?!? Yes, abolish those “holidays”. What is even WRONG with people?!? Some states also have a Confederate history month??? I am sorry, but I can’t get behind that.

Ok, I get that cultural appropriation is bad. He says don’t do it. But later on in the book, the author talks about making church hymnals more diverse. Our hymnal is diverse, traditional hymns from Europe, African American spirituals, South American hymns in both Spanish and translated, Taiwanese, Native American, you name it, we sing and love them. But. Can it be considered cultural appropriation? I’m troubled.
