My biggest struggle with this book is that half of the time, it's an incredibly detailed analysis of Bowie including his mistakes and how we (modern fans) can understand his motivations. Great! But the other half of the time, it's the author talking about himself and his own experiences in relation to being a Bowie fan, which I don't remotely care about

Like sometimes we get these really interesting bits that are really analyzing David Bowie and his thought process, and then we jump back into "anyway remember how I became David Bowie for a year" I literally do not give a fuck about that at all dude you should've mentioned it in the title or the summary

"Why Bowie Matters to Me: a Memoir about becoming David Bowie for a year" <- A title that actually tells you what this book is about lol
