Honestly this page hits. Maybe it’s being a volunteer EMT and doing that because I love helping people and also being a nursing student as someone who fought health issues.

But is it naive to want to save someone when it’s within our capability to do so?

It’s easy to write non compliance off as a patient just not doing what they are supposed to, but this patient story highlights that non compliance is a question of WHY. What is the patient not getting that is causing them to not be compliant with their treatment plan? What barriers are present? Do they understand the plan? Ask WHY.

Interesting but not at all surprising that Farmer and his staff could treat TB patients for $150-$200 while same care costed $15,000-$20,000 in the US.
The cost differential is just… yeah. Wonderful to be helping people that need it but also why is it so expensive in the US too.
